Glorify wanted to grow their audience on TikTok and Instagram Reels by showcasing the depth and quality of their courses. The challenge: make content about Christian faith feel visually compelling to people who might never have downloaded the app.
We created four motion graphic trailers. "Who is Jesus" was the first, and the one that set the creative direction for the whole series.
We used a cut-out animation style, vintage-inspired collage that blends historical imagery with modern symbols. Bible, doves, Jerusalem streets, a car, a globe, a balloon. The past and present in the same frame, which mirrors the question the trailer is asking.
The animation follows the voiceover beat by beat. Each frame builds curiosity rather than answering it, leading to a conclusion that makes you want to find out more.
Visual system
- Cut-out collage aesthetic with hand-crafted texture
- Earthy, muted palette: warm yellows, soft reds, dusty blues
- Crumpled paper textures and geometric shapes for depth
- Symbolic imagery that works across cultures and backgrounds
The project started with deep research into cut-out collage aesthetics, building a visual language that felt both timeless and energetic. The moodboard pulled together references across Bauhaus, vintage advertising, and contemporary collage work before a single frame was animated.
From there, we storyboarded the full sequence: every voiceover beat mapped to a visual moment, ensuring the story landed emotionally even on silent autoplay.
The series drove measurable growth in app downloads and social engagement. The cut-out style became a recognisable part of Glorify's content identity on short-form platforms, distinctive enough to stop the scroll without feeling out of place.
